The Temple priesthood started out trying to defend God and promote righteousness but now, they have evidence that this man Jesus, whom they have executed, has been resurrected. Our imaginary memorandum from Satan is fun, but it helps understand today’s verse. (The idea for this came from The Gravedigger File by Os Guiness.) Don’t worry how ridiculous it sounds they will not notice. Have them defend their interpretation of the Bible. Help Targets find a reason that their actions do not conflict with this Book. If Targets read the Bible, convince them it doesn’t mean what it says. We have lost a lot of sales to people who suddenly repent and ask Mr. Be on guard for an enemy tactic called “conviction of the Holy Spirit”. You will be surprised how stupid a reason they will accept at this point. Help the Target think of reasons why the action was not wrong. People do not want to feel bad about themselves. If this is something the Target has done before, distract the Target from remembering the consequences of prior incidents. Close the sale! Get a commitment for that first order. Once you hear the compromise, you have the Target hooked. “I’ll stop tomorrow” can be very effective for established clients. Plant phrases like “just this once” or “just a little bit” in the Target’s mind. You must, at all costs, lure the Target away from his or her values at this point. Let the temptation bubble in the Target’s mind imagination will help here. Get the Target interested without setting off any red flags. Re: Undermining Christian Resistance - Suggested Steps Daily Prayer has gotten its hands on a top-secret memorandum that explains a lot: Have you ever noticed how a sin that you don’t set out to commit can worm its way into your life by inches? Nobody takes their first drink thinking, “I will become an alcoholic, lose my job, lose my family, ruin my body and mind, and/or go to prison for killing someone while driving drunk.” Notes on the Scripture The Report of the Guard And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day. So they took the money and did as they were directed. And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers and said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” “God, thank You that You have fulfilled Your promise to me in giving me an undivided heart and putting a new spirit in me, removing my heart of stone and giving me a heart of flesh.Hile they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place. “Lord Jesus Christ, let me take captive every thought I have today and make it obedient to You.” “Whatever my hand finds to do today, Lord, help me to do it with all my might.”ġ0) October 5 (based on 2 Corinthians 10:5) “Whatever may come my way today, Father, remind me that in all things You are working for my good.”ĩ) September 10 (based on Ecclesiastes 9:10) “Thank you, Lord Jesus, that You are able to save me completely because You are always interceding for me.” “Lord, let me ‘not become weary in doing good,’ knowing that I will reap a harvest at the proper time if I do not give up.” “Thank You, God, that since I have been justified through faith, I have peace with You through my Lord Jesus Christ!” “Teach me, Lord, to think on these things today and every day: ‘whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable excellent or praiseworthy.’” Let me live and breathe in that reality today.” “God, thank You for loving the world so much that you gave Your only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. “Lord, let me shine today like a bright star in the sky, blameless and pure, a child of God ‘without fault in a warped and crooked generation’.” “God, just as ‘in the beginning’ You created the universe and the world by Your Word, so make today a new beginning for me.”Ģ) February 15 (based on Philippians 2:15) Here they are, with examples of short prayers based on scripture from the Bible. Scripture quotations come from the NIV:ġ) January 1 (based on Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1) So, I thought, what other dates can spur my praying-and, I hope, yours? I came up with 12 dates to pray throughout the year.
